Your son is one of the most awesome babies it's ever been my privilege to know, even though I've only met him directly once. He is so strong and so brave and he has already faced and conquered more adversity than most people will ever know. I wish I could have met his sister, but your stories and the pictures you showed us make me feel as if I knew her too, just a little. She fought just as bravely, even if in eventual defeat.
I am thankful for having had the chance to get to know you and your wife a little better over the time you were in Seattle to be with the babies. You're good people and good friends, and I hope that when everyone's health (mine, your son's, etc.) permits, we get to spend more time together. I was and remain thrilled that you were finally able to bring your son home, but I miss all of you now that you're back on the other side of the Sound.
I am thankful that I can consider you and your lovely lady to be friends and am looking forward to meeting little Timothy. I am thankful that you had the opportunity to spend time with Leslie, no matter how short that time.
