Sorry I wasn't posting much last week. I took a trip to Branson, MO over the weekend, so spent the early part of the week preparing and lining stuff up so I wouldn't be swamped today when I got back.
The trip was very much fun. As many of you know, I play a computer game called World of Warcraft. I belong to a guild with about 90 or so other people, and we frequently play at the same times, teaming up to take down big bad monsters. I've done this for many, many hours a week for the last 8 months or so. Anyway, one of the guys runs a hotel in Branson, and decided to throw a get-together, so we could all meet each other in real life.
It was amazing; so much fun. About 35 people showed up, from Montana to Michegan to Texas. Branson itself really doesn't do it for me. It basks in its own countriness and gospellness, which really isn't my thing, but it was the people that made the trip fun.
Friday night, there was a big party in Smitty's room, and Saturday we went to Silver Dollar City, which is sort of like a small Six Flags. Saturday night, we had dinner together, then one of the girls had brought her karaoke machines (she had come straight from work), so we set those up in the hotel and sang and played poker until 4:30 in the morning.
I got up for breakfast at 9:00, then I drove another couple of hours to my sister's new house, near the Arkansas border and spent a little time with her and her family before I drove home. I was a TIRED boy on Monday, and wound up taking that whole day off, too, just to sleep!
So, that was my weekend. I'm looking forward to a somewhat quieter week this week. :-)
Oh, but if you're in the Peoria area, and if you're free on Thursday night, come to the Waterhouse for the return of Open Mic Night starting at 7:00!
