I'm becoming a theatre loser. Seriously.
This past weekend, I was all set to audition for a local production of The Producers. I had picked out and practiced my audition song ("I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story, sung in a German dialect, with all the "and's" replaced with "und's"). I printed off and filled out an audition form. I was ready.
Then, of the three days of auditions, I (for whatever reason) put it off to the last day.
Of course, when I got home the night before, I walked into a house filled with water from a frozen and burst pipe. Which kinda put the kabosh on my audition enthusiasm until I got that taken care of. So, I ended up not trying out.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Then I thought I'd cheer myself up by going to see Songs For a New World (one of my very favorite shows) at the Green Room this weekend. I don't know where I got it in my head that it was running this week -- it closed last weekend. Bah!
I'm still hoping to catch The Mousetrap this weekend, though, primarily because
quillons is in it, and despite reading each other's blogs for several years now, I've yet to actually see her in a show. I look forward to it. :-)
So... no auditions on the horizon, but I'll keep an eye out. Seussical is coming up next month, but... enh. Kid shows aren't typically my thing. We'll see.
