Sometimes, a little sap goes a long way.  I decided recently to rekindle a dead friendship, and make another one stronger.  So far, it's been working out for me pretty well.  Only time will tell, though ( Read more... )

Do you make a point to space twice in between sentences, using ? That's interesting. I noticed since the HTML will convert any number of spaces into one space unless you use . I used to do that on my websites. I'm trying to kick the habit of typing with two spaces. It's really difficult. I was just informed a couple weeks ago by a professor that you're not actually supposed to type with two spaces. I felt silly. It's a relic left over from monospaced typewriters, but now that our typefaces are no longer monospaced we don't need to space twice to distinguish between sentences.

Actually, the only reason I started spacing twice in between sentences in the first place was because some lady in the Dunckel media center around eighth grade told me I was supposed to. Before that I never did.

I actually use a client to post entries, so it probably does that for me. And actually, I've always typed with two spaces between sentences. That habit was reinforced in Word Processing in 9th grade. I was taught two spaces are needed after periods and colons, but only one is used after semi-colons. If you pay attention to my typing, you'll notice that I follow (most of) the teachings of Word Processing, even if it was a terrible class.

I seem to remember they do teach that in Word Processing. The graphic design world must be outraged.
