Last night: A Play About an Island. Which definitely met and exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of the acting. The script did have awkward and slightly self-indulgent moments, but I thought it was also an original twist on the Tempest, and had some really perfect lines to make up for the duds. On the whole, wonderful play. Go see it if

I agree about Island. I didn't know what to expect, but I really got a lot out of it.
The way I saw it, the whole second half is a metaphor for going away to college--something I'm dealing with now. Props to Mia!
I laughed, because you could almost cut and paste your last paragraph into the common app!
