smiley-happy

Smiley-happy-Callie is home in three days! Sad-Callie just said goodbye to most of her Costa Rican friends. But smiley-happy-Callie has sad-Callie in a headlock and is keeping her in her mental place, so overall I'm excited ( Read more... )

1. You don't have to be smiley-happy Callie. If you weren't sad about leaving this people, I would seriously question your soul level. eg Mr. B. And that's no good.

2. Whoa. Memories of Chemistry. This was not supposed to be number 2. But it shoved itself into this comment, and now it is here.

3. HOW SHORT??!?!?!?!

4. I'm coming back to No. 1 eventually.

5. WIND ENSEMBLE PLUS CALLIE OH MY GOODNESS.

6. Seriously. I'm excited out of my mind to see you. But you've met people you're going to miss, and don't pretend you don't just because we all love you (more) (just kidding). Don't be so hard on poor Sad-Callie.

7. That being said, I'm excited. A lot.

9. HOW SHORT?!?!?!?!?

10. You'd better tell me how short soon, or you'll get more of these.

1/6. I'm not denying the existence of sad-Callie. But she's a lot weaker than happy-smiley-Callie (especially when I'm on the internet, thinking in English). Also it hasn't really hit me that I'm leaving quite yet. I'm not entirely sure it ever will hit me, because sometimes things just don't. Plus, an integral part of saying goodbye is exchanging emails, so I'm not necessarily losing contact with these people. And that said, I also like smiley-happy-Callie better. As the name would imply, she's happier ( ... )

1. OK. That's good. I just worry that I'm all like "I'M SO EXCITED!" and it makes it harder. But you know all about me and constant worrying for no reason.

2. Oh, chemistry...we had fun in spite of it.

3. I'm glad you're not that mean, because that would be highly mean of you. How short is drastically short? Like boy-short, or shoulders-short, or what?? I'm sooooooo curious.

4. That sounds reasonable.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!

!Mi hermanita estara conmigo en pequeno tiempo! (You can REALLY tell I haven't taken Spanish this semester)

I can't wait to see your cute haircut!

And I understand your mixed feelings, I felt the same way coming home from Oxbow.

Yaay!!!

(And did you get your Christmas present? We got the lovely, lovely ornaments you sent)

All you missed in the Spanish was one accent mark. I'm not telling you where though; you'll have to guess. And for me I'd use poco instead of pequeño (I'm forgiving you for the missing tilde). But I'm just being nitpicky.

I still don't have the present yet, actually. I'll go to the post office tomorrow.

YAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I didn't say this in the other post, but it's really great to hear from you! ¡Y voy a ver hermanota (palabra fea, lo siento) en menos de dos días!

There are a lot of odd parallels between this and Oxbow that make me feel a little like a conspiracy theorist when I think about them. And it really is nice to know you understand the feelings.

Thank you. I feel supported. While on the subject, I rather want to see the black hair I've heard about from various sources. It's still there, right?

Sure is. Only problem is that the hair is getting too long now and I kind of want to cut it, but then I want to redye it and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do that. But you'll see.
Hair is sort of sexist when you think about it.

It is. My host brother has to periodically cut his hair in order to keep going to public school, which I find silly. And while the US isn't like that, it's still an underlying cultural thing.

Go for it! Redye anyways. Why not?
