Rest in peace, Majel

Majel Barrett Roddenberry passed away today at the age of 76 from leukemia. She will always be Nurse Chapel to me, although I kinda grew fond of her Luxwanna Troi character towards the end of Star Trek, The Next Generation. She has now gone on to join her husband Gene Roddenberry, the Great Bird of the Galaxy. Rest in peace, dear sweet lady.

She was awesome. Wasn't she originally supposed to be the first officer, but preview audiences didn't like having a woman in a command position?

I will miss her. Always liked her. I've heard many good things about her as both an actor and as a person.

Yeah, I'd heard that the network decided against having her play Number one in the show. Too bad, as I thought she was brilliant as second in command in " The Menagerie."

We had to wait almost 30 years later to see a woman in charge. Captain Janeway was awesome. Kate Mulgrew was the perfect choice to portray her.

It's hard to believe that it's been almost exactly a year since she died.
