...and out of all the hundreds of unpopular female characters that fandom is willing to redeem, Bella Swan isn't mentioned ONCE.

Are we saying some women can't be redeemed?

I have mixed feelings about the 'unpopular characters' list. Like, there does seem to be a fair bit of consensus on which the *really* unpopular characters are, and they have plenty of claims. OTOH, lots of characters are listed as claimed by one person when I'm like, "Someone hates them? Really? 'Cuz I never heard of it." Which I guess is always what's going to happen when people get to just volunteer names - our perspectives are always skewed by our own little fannish circle.

Tonks especially seems unhateable, but when I was in the Sirius/Remus community, there were some people who disliked her because of her relationship with Remus - after Sirius was dead. So I wanted to give her a hug.
