Islands among oceans... salty brine and sharpie air

*comes out of the closet of secrets*
okay, so in this year I went vegetarian, but in the last two months I've been cutting down on my intake of dairy products and eggs. For a while I've been half-consciously avoiding foods associated with the egg and honey and milk industries that abuse animals, because I know what happens. They're all intermigled, part of the problems I'd like to disassociate myself with. When our medicine and knowledge is so advanced that we can drastically alter our omnivorous diets with no nutritional sacrifice, is it that responsible to continue being a part of something so harmful? I dunno. Eating is pretty simple, and it doesn't matter to me at all what others eat. I know my parents are willing to support me financially in whatever eating habits I choose (haha, but not my pure chocolate diet whilst reading OoTP...) so I feel very safe and happy about consuming as little diary as possible!
I got so excited that I tested the maxmax limits of my parent's statement and my dad brought home some vegan chocolate chips... so yea... cookies tomorrow! I just got excited about the cookies I made. My last batch turned into gloop. 'Twas sad, but these are pretty good I guess.

oh yeah: and this whole "vegan thing" isn't "because of" my vegan friends.
In fact it's totaly unrelated.
'Cause, you know, when you chill with people for many many moons you aren't influenced AT ALL

Sorry, no art this time, but here's a cool song everyone should hear because it's happy.
Rough Gem

Vocalist from The Unicorns. They're called "Islands". Julian F-B was playing it in Chops last Wednesday.
By the way, people should come to that more... if you can, come! 7-9 pm on wednesdays. it doesn't suck. Orion gets kinda intimidating, but mostly everyone is so sensible and chill and just-wanna-be-your-friendsy it's... refreshing.
All giddiness aside, it actually is really super neet feeling to see where these people are in life.
Yesterday we were doing spin art on the clay wheel, and we ate lime-flavored chips.
