After looking through Mum's book collection the other day, I came upon Martha Gardener's Book, an unusual little book that is filled with all kinds of homekeeping advice and tidbits of knowledge. For example, did you know that if you cut the rind off bacon and dust it with flour, it'll stop the bacon from curling or splattering fat while cooking
