Another interesting thing that's happened lately is that on night shift I'm now the most experienced staff member, which is an odd feeling. It makes me realise that I actually know a heap of stuff about how the hotel operates, it's just that it's just below the surface and doesn't come out unless provoked.

And yeah, I've been there about five months now, I'm feeling pretty senior at times. Jake and Paul are still around, but those are the only ones of your crew that'd still be on porter, BC and Emma being on reception now. But even with the high turnover, it takes ages before someone is actually fired... there was this guy who was totally useless, from the start we figured he was gonna be hopeless for the job, and it turned out he was. He always got his shifts wrong, if ever he had to work mornings he would call in sick. Not until he simply didn't turn up and had his mobile switched off was he actually fired, about a month or two after he started. It makes me wonder at times.
