i did not see it in theaters, i must confess. I actually saw it in an IS where the focus was the critique of bad movies.
The part where I burst out laughing was when Frankenstein swung downward from the bridge and crashed into the window which I estimate to be about 100 feet above the bridge. That and when beckingsale launched off of the roof, hit the tree, and did like 50 flips before she landed (unscathed of course). WHO THE HELL CHOREOGRAPHED THAT?!?! I had to watch it three times to make certain i saw it. Then again on commentary just to see if teh directors realized their flaw.
just wait for the un-cut dvd of constantine to come out. and Sin City will be much better, because the creator is making sure he has ultimate power in the making of the movie. think about fight club the book, then fight club the movie. that was constantine. now think about fight club if palahnuik had chosen to have ultimate power. that is Sin City.
I'm already looking forward to Sin City. Very much so. i mean, its almost black and white w/Bruce Willis. When was the last movie with Bruce Willis in it taht was bad? That I saw? Other than Armageddon, which can be argued both ways.
Constantine was horrible. It made no sense how Constantine would punch hellscum, and then all his friends died so easily. It wasn't like he was The One or anything, he was just a guy who didn't love Jesus. He wasn't even all that bad ass. It made very little sense
( ... )
when i said that it was a different portrayal ofheaven and hell, i meant it inasmuch as god and satan are supposed to stay off-sides when it comes to developing humanity. Thats the difference, otherwise its a cliche plot. I recently saw hostage (Ill explain the relevance in a second), a rather good movie IMO; the theater was 55 degrees, and i STILL liked it. but it wasn't anything new.
I think that Cinema has come to the point where it is very hard to create a "new" plot, something that hasnt been done before. All thats left for hollywood to do is to make it better. In this aspect i think they succeeded at least modestly.
