Actually Sage, there are enough holes in cosmology, ecology and Evolution to allow a God. Enough evidence remains to even support a Christian God, complete with a Genesis. It's all a matter of your willingness to interpret facts.
Also, the infallibility of scripture is rather nefarious, as there are good deal of contradictions in the bible and apocrypha. Then of course there is the reconcilliation between the hardline God of the Old Testament and your neo-liberal ideals of fairness.
