I wanna try making a rhubarb crumble. But it's been ages since I had rhubarb, so I don't even know if it's in season now.
When I was a kid, my mom used to have it every so often to make a sauce from it which we had with our vegetables, instead of apple sauce. (omnomnom!)

The rhubarb season is mainly passed now - it's spring when the rhubarb is out. Though you might still be able to get cultivated stuff in the supermarket! (Lol I'm a Barbie, I'm from the Rhubarb Triangle XD Yes, such a thing exists!)

Ah dammit, too late! I'll have to see if I can get some cultivated rhubarb, like you said. But considering I haven't seen it in the supermarket this spring, I think my chances are slim. *grin*

Rhubarb Triangle? Hahaha - I never heard of it, but it sounds kind of awesome. XD

Haha the town where I grew up is in the area known as the Rhubarb Triangle where lots of forced rhubarb is grown. XD My mum has a good crop in her garden every year! Crumble is the best :9

Sounds like the southern part of the Netherlands, that's Asparagus country. :D
Yummmmm. My mom used to make (and freeze) rhubarb sauce every year, but I never had it in a crumble.
I'm thinking I might need to grow some as well - next to the bell peppers and tomatoes currently in there. :9

:D While I never saw him making anything with rhubarb in the shows of him I have seen, I'm not surprised! It sounds like something he would totally use. ^^

This is what the sauce that my mom used to make looks like - or at least, the closest thing I could find with a quick google. *grin*
As far as I can remember, it was made with a whole lot of sugar so it was quite sweet, and I absolutely loved it. ♥
(But it's been a couple of years, and lately I've really been craving it. It was one of my favourite things from when I was a kid!)
