T. and I just returned from a highly enjoyable vacation where we got to see and experience many different things (some initial pictures are on facebook). T. has been my best friend for six years now (my wonderful husband for 3 and a half years) and while so much has happened during that time, it all seems remarkably short

That last bit reminded me of one of my favorite "quotes" (actually more of a short excerpt) from a book by Haruki Murakami:

"Narrow minds devoid of imagination. Intolerance, theories cut off from reality, empty terminology, usurped ideals, inflexible systems. THOSE are the things that really frighten me. Wow, it was so great to see you post! I've been thinking of you lots recently. I Netflixed the Anne of Green Gables that I borrowed from you back in the day, and thought of you! Also, my dearest friend in the world is moving to your city, so that made me think of you, too.

We missed you at New Years; I hope yours was as good!
