Awesome, yeah I figured you had good musical taste from lots of snippets and things over the years, I just don't think I've ever talked to you about it directly.

I agree that music while working on ideas is vital, I've even gotten flashes of inspiration from just a single song that pushes characters and plots in whole directions. My long running Kult game for example is based on ideas I had while listening to a particular song, similarly Renfield from mr_jez's long running DG game got his plan for dealing with the end of the world by listening to Therion's Lemuria.

I'm less big on the random shifts however, if I'm working I like to try and keep focused inside one genre or album (I'm a big listener to whole albums on loop).

Music shuffle is one of my favourite ways to induce random cognitive dissonance.

I don't mind it sometimes but if I'm trying to concentrate it can jar me out of flow.
