Yep! I plan for it to be four parts, each part written for one NaNo. :)
Last year's part, as you know, was from childhood to quitting the Time Agency. This one'll go from conman to immortal, ending sometime around the bit where the Doctor left him on Satellite Five. Part three, next year, will be Jack's years on Earth while waiting for the Doctor to come back, including his pre-Torchwood years and continuing through his century-plus of being in Cardiff. Part four... I'm not entirely sure on, thanks to CoE, whether it'll stick to canon after season six of Torchwood or not. In any case, once I get there, it'll focus on what happens to Jack sometime in the future, after Torchwood.
(One of these days I need to drag Jaxom over to the Nexus and make him meet your John. I keep meaning to and then I get all anxious about posting in a new place and then don't do it.)
And yeah CoE was a bit weird...as many said it was a good show, but not exactly the Torchwood we all came to love!
(And yes you must! John would be glad to welcome him! And as should be noted dear_multiverse is not srs bsns so judgement will not be made. :O) So far my attempts to get a version of my John into Srs Bsn RPGs have failed. He's quite offended!)
...I have NO IDEA why I wrote season six up there. It's supposed to be TWO. They don't even share ANY LETTERS!
Yeah, mostly I want to stick to my already somewhat established personal canon, which was written between s2 and CoE, in which... Torchwood didn't completely disintegrate like that. And the Hub didn't blow up. If I do decide to go with CoE completely (and not only include Alice like I was planning to) in Fractured Symphony-verse canon, I'm gonna have to come up with a way for Jack's baby TARDIS to have survived the explosion, because I have plans for her to be a major player in part four. Even if she is TOTALLY RESISTING getting a name. :/ Nothing fits her, and I can't just say "the TARDIS" because that's the Doctor's TARDIS. It would get confusing.

Good to see you're continuing the tale of Captain Jack. I look forward to reading it.
Now I just need to settle on an idea for NaNoWriMo...
