Thanks. I took my mom out for dinner. Nothing fancy, but nice. She has simple tastes and the place almost never matters to her as we are the kind of family that likes the company and conversation more.
Not too long ago, I got a call from my mom. You see, at that time, I haven't called her in about three months and she was worried. You see, she really thought that, because I didn't call for so long, I was strung-out in a dark alley on heroin. Seriously. She chewed my ass out for about fifteen minutes about how I should call her more so I don't worry her so much.

I'm the "youngest" child, in my 30's actually. I live about an hours drive away from my mother, and to this day if I have to drive home in snow or a thunderstorm and I don't call her when I get back to let her know I am ok, I KNOW she will be thinking I am in an ambulance some place after hitting a semi or whatever.
I think that "worry over nothing" concept is hard wired into all mothers =]
