This has given me the opportunity to observe the difficulty of doing so in the current environment of extreme interest in spoilers, and also to see some patterns in how such spoilage can lead to bitterness, unreasonable expectations and unhappiness with ( Read more... )

With regard to the episode thread conversation, I almost think that, along with no spoilers, maybe TPTB and actors just shouldn't give interviews either, just to keep delusional fans from getting hopes up where no hopes were ever really meant to be ( ... )

I'm spoiled. Not in a rotten way though.
I enjoy the previews, pics, etc.
I'm not into spoiler discussion (not like at HHoW anyway). I'll glance from time to time but really I have no interest in reading at all.
I'm evil and do get a kick out chippers' frustrations about that thread, but that's the only thing I enjoy about it ;-).
I would like to go spoiler free as it really doesn't add to the enjoyment of the show for me (being spoiled), however as you said it seems most people are somewhat spoiled and I enjoy talking to them. That's the fun for me.

You guys! are so funny. And I'm loving the avatars, let me tell you. I think if you enjoy the spoilers and that's part of you fun, more power to you. If you can't watch without them, or knowing about them or discussing them brings you misery, maybe try going spoiler-free for one episode. It's not all that hard. Just to see what it's like on hte other side. The way I look at it is: if I'm going to see these episodes say, conservatively, 10 times each, then I'm definitely going to be spoiled 90% of the time and I'll be able to talk about it 90% of the time. So, it adds a little extra interest to not know what and when things will happen that first time. It's like a first kiss in a relationship. Who would want to know when that is coming? It's part of the fun.

Oh and you both amuse me no end and I <3 you both for it.
