1. I didn't read this series until after the first movie came out. I needed to be able to see the 2nd movie and I had to read the books first. If you're where I think you are, that part bored me to tears. That's the Tom Bombadil stage. Force yourself past it. The book will hook you, I swear.

2. I loved the first 2 books in this series - Restaurant at the End of the Universe is the second book. If you can, see if your library has a copy of the audio - preferably the radio show, but just the books would work. It's also worth it.

3. Start over. It's also worth it. What makes the book hard is the amount of world building. Persevere. Really.

6. Was good but not memorable. Move on.
