More Pain, Only Questions

Why can't I be able to compromise with my girlfriend if I want to? Why can't I try to make her happy? Why can't her happiness not be important to me? Why can't I be able to talk to her about something without her getting upset about it? Why, why, why?

Why?

Yes you can compromise with your girlfriend if you want to, but if she is accepting your guidelines in the first place, why is there a need to?

Yes you can try to make her happy but she is/was already happy. She was just scared of letting you down or ruining your goals, she has a right to be scared, doesn't she?

She does believe that her happiness is important to you.

You can talk to her, you just have to be careful with how you communicate. Please remember that it isn't always so much what you say, but how you say it. Diplomats and politicians both say a whole lot of nothing or things that are completely stupid and illogical, but depending on how they say it, it could be briliant and inspiring. Blatant attacks and assumptions can be a very bad thing. Open conversations and questions go a long way. Part of keeping open communication is how you come about it.
