1) Cool. Josh has learned how to do this as well, and even worked with a friend on making a batch (which turned out quite well).

3) It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't masterful. I don't think a movie can capture the books' appeal, so I don't expect it to, ever. That being said, Robyn and I will be in line this Friday for HP7!!!
1. Cool returned. Amanda, Jon, and I took a class on wild fermentation yesterday. We learned to make soda, wine, and beer out of native wild plums and herbs. Jon decided he wanted to start with trying soda since it only takes about a week and then we will slowly move up to the longer projects like beer. I'm really looking forward to it, in fact Amanda and I will probably head out and pick some wild plums today

3) Having read all the available books, I know what you mean when you say the movie was confusing. It's a gargantuan task to realize the book as movie, and they just never quite get there. I'd reeeeeally advise you to read the book, tho, and let the movie slide.
I'm thinking about it. I only read one of the books before... I believe it was the 2nd and I didn't care for it too much, of course that was ages ago and many tastes have changed since then... so who knows what I'll think now :)
