After reading a lot of articles and watching video clips, I was totally convinced that Melania Trump DID steal Michelle Obama's speech, blantantly and outrageously. However, after actually looking at the speeches side by side, I don't think she did. I think it (parts of it) was cribbed.. Not only reading passages side by side are incredibly similar but Canadian physicist and McGill University professor Robert Rutledge has analysed it and says that the odds are 1 in 87 billion.

Never forget Chris Christie's face when standing behind Trump that one time, like he's in utter disoriented shock, heh. He's really sold out.

Oh, yeah, it is. I never thought it would happen, but I can see just from the people I know that Republicans would vote even for Trump over Hilary, because of all the anti-Hilary scare propaganda. They feel it will be the end of the nation or something if she's elected. Similarly, everyone else feels it will be the end of the nation if Trump's elected. That's how polarized US politics is these days, and only getting worse.

Yeah, I'd seen that, and it's in the link I provided, too. Obviously that part is way too similar.....but the speeches themselves were very different. That's what I mean - I'd gotten the impression she'd copied a good deal of the speech, but it was only a couple of phrases, like they said. When you look at the speeches in their entirety, it looks very different than just comparing those two passages. I do think she probably looked at Michelle's speech to get an idea of the kind of thing she was supposed to say, and included those things not realizing how scrutinized she would be ( ... )
