This is fascinating to me too. It also draws me to make comparisons between me and my family as well as John and his family. John has been estranged from his father most his life, but people kept bringing up at the dad's funeral how John has the same everything as his father (looks, mannerisms, personality, etc). I have never met the man, but people talked as though they could be twins ( ... )

Yeah, it really is. I do think environment can go a long way in helping, though. I've often thought that if I'd grown up in a different family I'd be way more screwed up than I am. But I do think a lot of it is based in genetics, too. It's a mixture.

Unsurprisingly I totally agree with this, I think a huge amount of traits are heritable. With a mix in with nurture of course. Psychopathy, violence, alcoholism, anxiety, weight are some of the things which have been shown to be largely heritable.
