Reminds me of that study where they de-activated the area of the brain that deals with emotion. They put two biscuits in front of those people and told them to choose one. They couldn't choose; the lack of emotion meant that they were paralysed. Emotion is behind every single decision we make.

And how important emotion is to just simply function (it's been too trendy to deride it, to think that people can be some kind of non-emotional robot).
