I feel a great sense of relief that, come 2008, I will not have to watch a blue Keanu Reeves as Dr. Manhattan in the movie adaptation of Alan Moore’s, Watchmen.  Apparently, he was offered the role, but turned it down.  Why do movie executives keep thinking that he is the right actor to play messianic figures?  Wasn’t seeing him as Buddha painful ( Read more... )

i heard rumors of Tom Cruise turning down the role of Ozymandias. That made me happy.

Indeed it is kinda weird how Keanu has been stereotyped for that kind of role (and the related ones where he is not necessarily messaianic but still has to fight supernatural figures through strength of will). Oh well. Maybe they'll stop eventually and move onto someone else. Who would you like to see in the role?
