It's strange - I spend almost a third of my life at work, and for some reason it never gets a mention in this journal. Obviously I wouldn't want to bore you daily with doyouknowwhatshesaid?s, but the idea that all this time is so wasted and meaningless it has no place in my assembled thoughts is even more depressing. Right now, however, I feel more ( Read more... )

There's still about ten gigs left on the tour - you should go catch her when you're feeling more sprightly, it'd definitely be worth it. Have you seen her live before? I always feel a bit funny going to folksy concerts, because in the fast ones you feel like you should be dancing tipsily and in the slow ones like you should be sitting in a back room of a pub at the end of the evening with a pint in your hand, singing along. It's a bit strange just sitting there in rows, although she did get people to join in and they had silly games and gave out Kate Rusby mugs ( ... )

That's what you get from 2am folk-music highs ... the brain starts to operate in strange ways and I start trying to be witty. You poor things, you ...

My brother's applying to be a librarian at the moment. To be honest, I can't imagine I'd be very good at it. Most of it is admin and sorting and takes a quiet, reflective sort of personality - besides which I'd be far too tempted to read the books to ever be able to put them in order properly. Mind you, the 40-yr-old Trainee Assistant Librarian at Melton library had a phD in anglo-saxon, so you never know where an utterly useless degree like mine might get you. I have been warned ...

Are you coming back up to Leics before going to cambridge then? I guess you must be, unless 10 days of your time is just going to vanish into thin air...

Well, since you are, don't you dare leave without letting us have goodbye drinkies for you =)

There's a good hippy night on saturday nights now (at the international arts centre) for your new skirt =)

I'll see you soon, i dont have internet, so ring me or get cal to or something. =)

Yep! Am here for a week and will no doubt be extremely lonesome during the day while you and Cal and everyone are at school and Wilson's at Warwick and Alex is in London, damnit. Farewell drinkies sounds good. I'll be busy seeing grandparents and things Friday night but how about something midweek?
