soso much more interesting than whitemail, I imagine! (I once tried to write letters in metallic gel pen on black paper, but as an experiment it largely failed.) I am waiting in antic ...... pation.

I love that chair; so big you can curl up in it, legs and feet and everything. Perfect for reading. Normally the view is gorgeous, but today it's raining and everything is dismal outside.

Actually I haven't written anything since I got here except emails and work. My notebook is one big blank. Maybe letterwriting will cure it, switch my brain to ramble mode again.

Good luck with your exams. Evil having them this time of year; hope all goes well.

isn't it just gorgeous? One of the best things about an oxbridge college is the simple fact that nearly everyone there has fallen in love with it. There's a unity to that, to sharing in the same beauty. I haven't met a single person at Downing who doesn't think it's the most beautiful college, and the same goes for most of the others, I think. It's a good feeling.

And don't worry about replying any time soon - I'd love to hear from you, but I'd hate you to feel you had to, you know, just for the sake of it. An Eliza-letter is something worth waiting for :)

mmm yes, I can completely imagine that... that's what appeals to me actually, in a sense. I'd imagine there's a lot of camaradarie to be gained from all having chosen and been chosen by a particular college *le sigh*
