I am not sure that the redefining things as living/nonliving rhetorical trick answers the question at all though. okay, where did the crystals come from? where did the carbon come from? where did the energy come from? where did the first atoms squashed tighter than cameron's ass in ferris bueller's day off come from?

that being said, i'm not sure that answering that question by saying that the "uncaused cause" was God ala t. aquinas is useful either. that's just saying, my brain cannot understand the concept of linearity without the concept of a starting point and I cannot understand the concept of our universe without linearity.

how do you think that a group of atheists would debate a group of anarchists? who would sleep with bohohobo September 25 2005, 06:31:53 UTC
i would very much like to find out how atheists go about constructing their arguments (rhetoric, framing/power mechanisms, agendas, language, textual analysis). the best way to go about this is to create an informal q and a session, a catechism of sorts. what sorts of authoritative answers can we get? what common themes emerge when atheists talk and split and assert their independence bias and humility?
in order to reach this state i will need questions to ask them. send me all you've got. collect them from other people. i would like to be a pollster.
