If it weren't for Mark, Roger wouldn't be here.
As it is, he doesn't much want to be here anyway, but... well. Mark. So he doesn't have much choice, the way he sees it.
Still, he hesitates outside Mark's door for quite a while before actually knocking, somewhat hesitantly. "Mark?"
Yes, for the moment he's going to pretend that Ace doesn't exist.

Mark brightens up considerably, sitting straighter on the bed and actually smiling a little.
It's sad that he's so much like a puppy.
But regardless of the happy, he's still way too thin, even for him, and way too pale. Not that Roger can see. But for the benefit of the typists.
Basically, he looks like he's at death's door. While that's not exactly true, it's not that far from the truth, either.
"It's open!" he calls, his voice a little raspy.
