Oh Man, Oh My, Oh Me
And despite being home and back in the USA, and excited because Christmas is coming, and there's red chicken chili and copious amounts of really excellent wine brought by good friends, my fangirl heart is crushed and bleeding. And there's absolutely no hope of any resolution until JANUARY 16, which is ungodly torture. I hate you, Jeremy Carver. And I also love and worship you, Jeremy Carver. *sobbing*
Why hasn't Sam tried to explain the whole Amelia/Don thing to Dean??? I mean, if Dean knew---if he fucking understood that it wasn't just "a girl"---that BAD ADULT SHIT happened to Sam while he was gone---wouldn't he care? Wouldn't his heart bleed for his brother? I get it that there's only so much explaining Dean can do about Purgatory to Sam: it was all-killing, all-the-time. Bloody, nasty, vicious, brutal, 24/7. I do believe we heard him say it, and more than once. But for the love of Kripke, why Sam isn't even attempting to share the enormity of what he lived through with Dean is beyond me. All he's said is that there was a girl, and then there wasn't. Well. That sounds like nothing. NOTHING! But what Sam went through emotionally was every bit as devastating as what Dean went through physically---and Dean had Benny. And Cas. Sam had NOBODY.
I'm glad Benny wasn't killed. I'm not happy the ending was ambiguous as hell. We don't know what the resolution was. Martin was killed...but did Benny up and disappear, per Dean's advice? Guess so. Great! That means Dean can't use him as an excuse anymore. And I seem to be one of the minority in this fandom who thinks it was completely in character for Dean to pull that trick with the cell phones to ensure Sam's complete and total absence from the very tense situation unfolding down at Merlotte's Guidry's. I wouldn't have wanted Sam there, either---way too twitchy and bitchy about Benny in general. Dean's such a control freak.
But there is no way in hell that Dean wouldn't care if he KNEW. But he doesn't. Because Sam hasn't told him.
Maybe episode 21?
