Here he is~. [Background]
So once upon a time, there was a little boy who dressed like a little girl. This was Italy, back when he lived in the house of the Holy Roman Empire. He was treated like a servant there, and spent his childhood days mostly with Holy Roman Empire who was a kid himself. Later in time, he would come to call Holy Roman Empire his first love, but back then Holy Roman Empire just continually pursued Italy to become part of the Holy Roman Empire with him. But Italy was reluctant. He had seen how great empires had been crushed. His very own Papa Rome was so strong, yet he fell down hard in the end.
Eventually, Holy Roman Empire began preparing to leave. Of course, he hadn't told Italy this and he only found out when he was sent down for water by Austria. After a kiss and a declaration of love, Holy Roman Empire left the young Italy with a promise he would return to him.
But it wasn't meant to be.
The Empire was formally dissolved in the year 1806 at the hands of the man Italy looked up to as a big brother; France. France himself informed Italy that Holy Roman Empire was dead, and not to think about him any longer. After all, he was a big boy now. And had his own country to care for.
Northern Italy, as a country, became more modernized than the South in the following years. But it was still very weak by military standards, and very indecisive when it came to picking sides. He meets Germany whilst he's hiding from any potential enemies in a tomato crate, unconvincingly pretending to be a Tomato Fairy.
First impressions are very important. And the first thing Italy does when Germany gets the box open? Cry, beg and say that he has family in Bavaria. Like a true, sterotypical Italian.
Germany doesn't seem to believe that such a weakling could be the descendant of the powerful Rome, but Italy is taken over to Germany's house and kept as a prisoner of war and quite willingly at that. As he tells Germany; with him he is fed and he doesn't have to fight or do anything. He even comes straight back when Germany allows him to attempt escape. After chatting up some German girls of course.
After World War One, Italy and is family became economically drained like most of the world due to the cost of the war. However, near the start of World War Two, he notices how strong Germany has become and so jumps at the chance to ally with him again, creating the Pact of Steel in 1939. Italy entered World War II in 1940, and later that year Germany, Italy and Japan signed the Tripartite Pact- coming together to be known as the Axis powers.
However, by 1941 Italy had been bashed around a lot by other countries. And it was only due to Germany's interventions that he managed to avert a major military collapse.
[Personality]
There's a good reason why 'Hetalia' means 'useless Italy'. North Italy seems, overall, to pretty much a waste of space. Well, when it comes to fighting and serious business that is. He is the exact opposite of Germany and his orderly ways; he is disorganized, lazy and has little motivation to do anything unless it's painting or eating. With this dislike for warfare, it should be no surprise to hear that Italy is a major coward. He'll run, hide, do anything to avoid capture, but when he is he'll end up babbling whatever it is his captor wants to hear and more. Anything to make sure that they don't hit him.
Feliciano is highly dependent on other people, Germany in particular. But although he needs them mainly for protection, he enjoys being sociable and making friends. He likes to remain positive about things, and will try to cheer people up if they're upset. Mostly by making them pasta, because obviously that solves everything.
And of course, he's also a complete and utter dunce. He doesn't understand a lot of things, and has the level of curiosity that one would expect from a child. As well as the patience and attention span of one. He finds it hard to listen when anyone else provides a long explanation, but he also tends to rant and wander off subject.
Despite being such a coward, there's a part of Italy that wants to prove his worth. When the mood strikes him, he runs headfirst into trouble and picks a fight. Of course, these brief moments of bravery are quickly over once he calls for Germany's assistance.
[Specialties/Abilities]
North Italy is very cultural, and was taught by his Papa Rome how to paint, sculpt and other artsy things. And, most importantly, he can cook up some really good food. Especially if it's his beloved pasta.
[Affection] FELICIANO LOVES YOU. HUG AND SMOOCH HIM ALL YOU WANT. THE WORST HE'LL DO IS MAKE YOU PASTA AND CUDDLE YOU BACK. ♥
[Fighting] He'll cry. A lot. Then run behind Germany. That's all I'm saying.
[Other Facts]
Don't get in a vehicle with him if you value your life.
