I was in the same boat a few years ago, and bought a pair of glasses at 7:30 p.m. on December 31. But $900 for sunglasses? I'd be too worried about losing or breaking them!

Good luck!

Well, I figured that it most likely the last time ever in my life that I'd be able to spend that much money on sunglasses. And, arguably, it's the lenses that were so friggin' expensive.

The frames were only $279. Astigmatisms. Even with the best vision coverage I've ever had in my life, I *still* end up paying $300 or $400 out of pocket.

If only I weren't so afraid of 1) contact lenses or 2) lasik surgery. Anything with the power to cut my eyes (even if it's completely "safe") scares the living crap out of me.

heck, lasik is how I got into that mess to begin with! I put aside $3,000 for it, then found out in October that my corneas are too thin for it (they remove a lot for us astigmatism people and need to have a minimum amount of material left over, and I was under the threshold). so not everyone is a candidate, apparently.

hey, enjoy the sunglasses! in my world, they would last about 5 months. but I'm seriously hard on my stuff.

Though I don't have astigmatism, and my eyes aren't too poor, I agree with you 100%. I'll be schlepping glasses till I check out.

The sunglasses are very cool.
