Douglas Adams once wrote a short essay, pointing out that "Y" was the only letter of the alphabet that posed a question while indicating that "Why" questions are the hardest to answer (and they're easiest to answer with "Why not?"). It was a funny essay, and not long at all. I've considered it for a monologue, in fact. At the end, though, he says something along the lines of: "Y doesn't have to be the final word. It isn't even the final letter. How would it be if it wasn't W X Y Z but W X why not?"

Help stop the misogynistic rants of a man who thinks he proves his own intelligence by arguing that battered women don’t deserve to be defended! Leave YOUR comments on the March 16, 2005 entry entitle “rant: battered wife syndrome” by a certain chauvinist LJ user NOW!
