OMG...Am I a bibliophile?
I think that if a student is not a bibliophile by the time they get to graduate school, it might be inevitable that the student will become one. This weekend seems to be my time. Morning thoughts
I'm turning 30 tomorrow. I don't have any plans to celebrate, though it seems like one of those birthdays that calls for something special. I'm more or less over my freaking out. I now have a schematic design for studio that gives the perceptual experience I was going for. Well, it translates the photos on my poster for the interim review anyway (which my models did not). It's really simplistic formally, but my professor thought it was an accomplishment. Last night was not a night for good sleep. I woke up about 4:30 or 5:00 after just going to bed at 2:30. I couldn't get myself back to sleep. For a yogi, I freak out too much. I need to practice more. The trick is, how do I make the time? One of my classmates started Bikram recently. She said she goes to the studio 4x week. She's not working 20 hours/week though, just TAing (10 hours). I think I would be more productive is If I stopped the freaking out ( Read more... ) -

My school/work schedule and all the personal stuff going on this week has been too much. I have to make a simple 5 minute ppt tomorrow about my visual perception topic, but it's still in a rough form, and I am scheduled to work tomorrow. I hate to fall behind. My first assignment of the semester was a success. It was one of the first things that caught my professor's eye when he walked into the studio. He said that my craftsmanship has improved in two years :) The only big disadvantage was that I didn't make it big enough for a viewer to put his or her head into it. It felt really good today to check the box for yes to the question, "Is this your last upper level studio?" and to know that I will be assigned to a studio in the first round of the lottery. I had planned to attend Buffalo Gay Bingo tonight. Dinner took a little longer than I anticipated, but I still got to the hall about 15 minutes before the games were to begin.
