I'm glad you posted this. I was torn between trying to get Pete to go to Waterton or out in the Cypress Hills direction sometime. I knew I'd like Waterton, but was curious about these places too.
I'd go to Waterton again in a heartbeat but probably won't do Cypress Hills again. Waterton has more options for places to stay other than camping (I don't really see you as the camping type?) Pete would probably love to see the Red Rock Coulee area though, which is near Cypress, but you can't really make a trip to it alone, there is literally nothing there except those red boulders.
Yeah, I'm not a camper. I didn't enjoy it as a child, I didn't enjoy it as a teenager, and now that I'm older and crabbier I know camping is not for me. But Waterton has lots of hotels and the little town is neat. I was there for work once and never got the chance to really explore it so I think we'd enjoy it. Heck, we were in pincher creek the other day - and that's most of the drive there.
