WA and BC geographical naming authorities have now officially adopted the Salish Sea nomenclature. (For those who don't know, the "Salish Sea" is the name that was proposed recently as a colletive name for the inland waterway including the Puget Sound, the Strait of Georgia, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and adjoining bodies. As much as all my anthropology and history profs used the term, I'm actually a little surprised this hadn't happened fifteen years ago. I agree, it's pretty damn cool. If all the new maps of the area start using it, and the news casters start using it, it'll catch on pretty quick, I think.
