Fall Schmall

Sep 11, 2006 08:17

I haven't posted since December, and a lot has happened since then, but, really, nothing's happened since then. People visited, tv was watched, the yard was tended, the dog was cuddled with, friends with drama went through life, and friends without drama re-emerged. There were so many times I wanted to post about stuff that was either interesting, or that stressed me out, but writing would have expended more energy than I was willing to give up. I've been exceptionally lazy.

So, here is a recap, in limerick and haiku form. Some seem important, while others are completely unimportant. All seem to blend together for me. September 11 is the day to post this, because it's the first weekday since I wrote them, and since all I want to do is avoid the treacly 9/11 "memorials" wherein the same old points will be made by the same old politicans.

When does Mike Rowe get to be clean?
He's covered in that sweaty sheen
This is my confession
It's my new obsession
Watch Dirty Jobs clean out latrines

Mike Rowe sure does have some finesse
Goes into each job with such zest
His wit does not quit
But I must admit
I watch it for his hairy chest

Those meercats are not so bad either
With Flower mama as their leader
Who told me 'bout this?
This soap opera bliss
'Tween Ace and rusty I blame either

The SciFi Channel does not suck
With doctors, the gates, and Starbuck
The shows are so great
Breath held, I do wait
The movies still make me upchuck

The last ep of Deadwood just aired
And we see that Swearingen cares
But one thing's assured
The Doc will be cured
And Bullock will still put on airs

Em City, they call it, this Oz
The crimes of inmates do give pause
A world of denial
And sins that are vile
Most subject to probable cause

Cesar Millan is my new god
His doggie rules make us applaud
The new boss in town
Is now me, hands down
She no longer runs all rough shod

Cordy trots along
Preowned treadmill runs under
I do love craigslist

One dog's lip curls up
Danger is palatable
Hackles are rising

Hundred pound pavers
Fifty one of them in place
Chiropractor's bill

The chest pounding won't seem to end
Arrythmia isn't my friend
The doctor poo poos it
Bit I still do choose it
I love that Coenzyme Q10!

Therapy needed
Loved one with PTSD
Emotional sigh

Primary voting
Why are there ballots missing?
Ready for boredom

This baby shower sure does suck
They call it a pill baby, but
She's only 18
And acts like a queen
Why can't she just keep her legs shut?

Quadruple bypass
Father-in-law's potential
Squandered and whiny

Wheat kitty litter
Wonderful and flushable
Husband hates the scent

Dead camellias
Brown carcasses protruding
Make way for new life

Greyish-green sproutings
Orange and linen cups abloom
Wildflower poppies

Fruit of pink papers
Blooming yellow canopy
A tree's first bark growth

Tangible fragrance
Lightly brushing green and pink
Are those black things wasps?

Mexican sage blooms
Feathr'y purple explosions
Hummingbirds abound
