The week-old loaf of bread in my breadbox smells like nail polish remover.

It doesn't have any mold on it, but I figure the acetone smell is a good reason not to eat it, yes?

I would guess the yeast in the bread is fermenting, so yeah probably stay clear of that. I know the smell you are referring to-smelled it from my own neglected bread before.
