Well, for probably the best explanation, go to the FAQ and to the section of something like "How do I put an LJ-Cut into my journal?"
To lj-cut, start the thing you want to cut with < lj-cut text="Text here" > Here is where you put your object. Also, don't put in the spaces in the lj-cut thingy, I'm doing that so it shows up. You end all of this with< /lj-cut> (Again, minus the large space)
