I know I don't really know you, so I won't give advice, but I'll just say this...
Some parents, mine included, don't understand that when their kids turn 18 they can let go of the reigns. My parents kept me on a short leash until I was 18 and then continued to try to do so after. Once I was out of school I could finally look at them and say, "Mom, Dad, I'm going out and you can't do a goddamn thing about it."
It's the greatest feeling in the world.
