[After Lord Deior
announcement, Zhaneel finds herself a bit out of sorts as to how she should proceed. This being the case, she can only ask for help and hope the information she is given will prove effective.]There is to be a party at the Keep in celebration of Hallow's Eve... I have never attended a costumed celebration before and could use help

Looking like I'm going to have to find something for myself, anyway.

Have a profound sigh of relief. That you are just as over your head about all of this helps, believe it or not.]
I would not turn away any offer of help, Varric. I would happily assist you in any manner possible as well.

[True to his word, it's not long before he arrives at the clothier's tower.]
Hey there, Feathers.
[And now he's eying the abundance of costumes.]
Looks like we might have our works cut out for us.

Her ears flick back as she hears someone approach, the sound of the step identifying him even before he speaks.
She chortles softly at his soft pronouncement, glancing sidelong at him as he looks around.]
Aye, that we have, my dear friend.
Reply
Doesn't say anything about it, either, just gives the costumes another look.]
Have you found anything you might like?

She snorts ansoft sound that is almost amusement and glances sidelong at the dwarf.]
It appears a good number of them have been made with two legs in mind and for those angood deal smaller than myself; much less wingless.
[She sighs and shakes her head, grinding her beak slightly in thought.]
I wonder how much I must don in order for it to be a costume... Would it be simple enough to place one of those crowns upon my head and call myself a princess?
[She sounds both amused and doubtful.]
Reply
Everything's always made with humans in mind.
[He chuckles slightly at that.]
And a very lovely princess you'd make, if you ask me. Unfortunately, my opinion counts for little in the eyes of our esteemed host of the party.
Reply
I have seen more non-humans here than the opposed, albeit a good number are humanoid at least.
[You've got a one up on her there, boyo. Then she gurgles softly in amusement, flushing slightly over the nares at his compliment. She turns those big golden eyes on him once more.]
I value your opinion greatly, Varric; any that do not are foolish.
Reply
So have I. And you're right at that. I only have to worry about the wrong proportions.
[Point to you, Zhaneel. Though it still does limit his options. And then he smiles at her.]
My thanks, milady. Though as you're the princess, shouldn't I be championing you?

She side-eyes him, gurgling softly in her throat. To see him smile makes her feel good and she fluffs her feathers slightly. Then comes yet another compliment and she flushes across the nares, ducking her head before glancing at him again.]
I am hardly a princess, Varric.
[However, she looks both amused and happy at the declaration.]
But with you as my champion, I cannot see how any would even try to face us.
Reply
Her response makes him chuckle slightly.]
No, you're far from self-centered or useless enough to be a princess.
[Such a high opinion of nobility, he has it.]
Then again, supposedly this holiday is about pretending to be what you're not.
[And there's another chuckle there.]
Normally I'd say I'm not exactly champion material. But in the spirit of the holiday, and as it's you I'd be championing, I'd have to agree.
Reply
Coming from you, that is the finest of compliments, Varric.
[Nobles just tend to get you killed, brosef. S'all good. She then tilts her head curiously at that.]
Pretending what you are not? I can see this going in any manner of ways, then...
[Then she snorts and side-eyes the dwarf.]
Varric, you are as much a champion as you choose to be. In truth, I'd ask for few others by my side in a time of need.
