All of my hatred for winter seems kinda stupid now. Why? Because ticks DIE in the winter. Die. die. die evil things die! And well... since we don't get a lot of tick-killing winter around here? Stupid ticks. Stupid deer. That's why I've always hated living in too outdoorsy/woodsy areas. Damn Bambi. >:O

Wow, that sucks! I've lived in Missouri all my life (with our millions of deer and consequent ticks); I'm surprised I've never gotten Lyme Disease! Just be careful after it clears up; I have heard of people having residual side effects after the disease clears up (nothing major, and it's usually fixed with dietary changes, actually). So just be careful! On the bright side, though, at least now you know why you've been sick and now you can get better!

I managed to be lucky enough to get sick really easily so I caught it really early on because the symptoms showed up super fast. Not many are lucky enough to actually meet their offending tick. I got to squish mine and stuffs. (And he will never be squished enough if you ask me -.-;;)

Glad you found and killed it. My ex step uncle didn't realize he had lyms until it was way too late, it made him depressed and rotted his brain. He used to be awesome, now he's an ass. wanted to un-adopt my cousin after being her dad from the age of 4 till she was 18...
