To paraphrase an old saying,
Be careful what you apply for, you might get hired.

And since we're on the subject, something I don't like to admit to is the fact that I was once hired as a vengeance weapon. I didn't realize this until I was fired ninety days later. By that point, it was clear that the outgoing manager wanted to make the guy who took over his old store look bad, in order to make himself look that much better, and he accomplished this by hiring the least qualified applicant he could find just before he moved on to his new store.
