Characters already in the game: Ritsuka, Haruhi, Yusuke, Mieu, and Legretta.
How did you find us?: Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down--

IC:
Character name: Aqua
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts. Her first appearance is in Kingdom Hearts; Birth by Sleep and her doings affect basically the whole series/the main characters later on.
Timeline: At the very end of her 'story' and before the final chapter.
Age: It's never really specified how old Aqua is, but the KH cast and myself agree that she's in her late teens to her early 20's. I'm going to go on the late side of 19 for her.
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Aqua is a magic based fighter, but she's no pushover when it comes to agility and using her keyblade to defend and attack. She can cartwheel easily out of trouble and can even use her keyblade to fight while cartwheeling into your face. But she only comes second to Master Xehanort when it comes to magic, and that's what she uses most of all. She has several attacks that aren't just your usual Curaga and Thundaga.

• Spellweaver: Her own exclusive Command Style; it utilizes the power of light to hover her Keyblade in midair! And she can do a cool light spinny attack that hits enemies in the area.
• Thunderbolt: A thunderbolt based Command Style that unleashes powerful lightning attacks.
• Firestorm: A Command Style that focuses the Keyblade to erupt in flames while attacking. This was my favorite.
• Diamond Dust: An ice-based Command Style that seems to specialize in crowd-control and dealing with multiple enemies, named after the common attack of the Blizzard-based summon Shiva from the Final Fantasy series!
• Frozen Fortune: Another ice-based Command Style that uses an ice cream theme. BUT WHO WILL I EAT ICE CREAM WITH.
And there are level two command styles, that come out of level one command styles.
• Ghost Drive: Aqua's high speed Command Style and exclusive to her; it allows her to attack enemies at high speeds while using after-image illusions and tricky movements to her advantage.
• Bladecharge: In this Style, the Keyblade resembles a Light-blue sword. A long-ranged style, as its name implies, it allows the user to "charge up" the attacks for additional damage. THIS ONE WAS MY FAVORITE. It's pretty awesome.
• Sky Climber: A style that gives Aqua a great midair advantage, it allows her to ride her Keyblade around to attack foes from above at high speed.

She also has a shotlock which is basically a long ranged attack that was annoying and I never used it. She also has several D-Links. What are D-Links, you ask? Well, you can essentially borrow a friend's power and use it as your own for a short period of time. ...Basically, she has a lot of magical powers that all video game characters have but rarely get used in an actual RPG game because it just doesn't feel right. Also, she can also actually sense darkness.

How would they use their abilities?: Aqua would use her abilities for a few reasons. First and foremost, as a Keyblade Master to try keep the balance between light and darkness on Thor. A close second is to help her friends in any way. A third is to help those who need help or protection. A Keyblade Master's duty is not to go around helping every single person, but to keep balance between light and dark. Birth by Sleep (in Aqua's story, at least) really stresses that there cannot be darkness without light and light without darkness. However, Aqua's heart easily goes out to others, so she'll go above and beyond her duty to help those who need it.
Appearance: Aqua is one of the taller girls in the Kingdom Hearts cast, standing roughly at about 5' 7 or so. She's shorter than Terra and taller than Ventus, putting her in the middle. I just said 5'7 because I like having some sort of number. But since Nomura doesn't tell us anything...!

Aqua is true to her name and keeps up a blue theme, starting with her hair and eyes. Blue, blue, blue. Her hair is on the shorter side and layered to be longer in the back, reaching a little below the nape of her neck. She wears a high collared halter top and black shorts, along with two straps across her chest. On her legs she wears black ...stocking things up to her thighs, leaving a little bit of skin between where the shorts stop and the stockings begin. And her shoes are...made of armor. Or something. And they're quite pointy. ALL THE BETTER TO CARTWHEEL WITH.

She also wears two random strips of cloth that come down from her hips to about her knees...for whatever reason. She has bits of armor on her arms, and when she touches her right hand to her left armor piece, her armor comes out! And that's all shiny and silver and blue and gray. It covers her entire body, along with her head and face, and looks pretty badass.

Background/Personality: Once upon a time, on some islands far far away, there lived a boy named Sora and his two friends Riku and Kairi. There were other people there but they weren't really essential to the plot directly, so no one cared about them aside from early level grinding. Sora and his friends played together on the islands but dreamed of something more, something bigger than themselves. And Riku was the one who sought the way off the islands, a way to explore new heights and see new sights - one fateful night the door opened.

Sora was gifted with something called the “Keyblade” that fateful night while the heartless swarmed Destiny Islands and his friends vanished into a dark abyss, leading to adventures beyond their wildest dreams ….bbbbbut we're not actually talking about that. However, that is the main plot to Kingdom Hearts! Disney movies are created into “worlds” that Sora and his friends visit. We see tons of familiar faces with Disney villains being keepers of darkness, famous Disney princesses being the essential princesses of heart, and our favorite old heroes becoming comrades of Sora to save the day. Sealing the keyholes and saving the girl and smiling and making jokes along the way. And throughout these games there were always hints about there being keyblade bearers before Sora, but we never knew until Kingdom Hearts; Birth By Sleep came out. Well, we did with that little trailer at the end of KH2 but I am not counting that.

Which is why I say we're not talking about the epic tale of Sora and Riku and all of their friends - we're going 11 years earlier, to where this all began. Before Sora, Riku, and Kairi there were Ventus, Terra, and Aqua. They all lived together in The Land of Departure, training under Master Eraqus. Well, somewhat. Aqua and Terra lived there together before Ven came along to train under Master Eraqus. When they first met Ven, Aqua and Terra asked him a bunch of questions because they were curious about him - why he wanted to become a Keyblade Master and several other questions of the sort - and ...they basically overwhelmed him. He proceeded to pass out (he passed out because he didn't have any memories, Master Eraqus says. Makes it hard to properly answer questions when you don't have any memories), something that they both felt guilty over because of how much they questioned him, and Aqua decided to stay and watch him sleep until he woke up. Which was...a few days later, so. Aqua watched over him for days. And ever since the day he opened his eyes, they became the best of friends. The fact that he came at a later time didn't change how close they all become. As Terra says in the game, they all shared the same dream of becoming Keyblade Masters, and they gained a healthy rivalry with each other along with being close friends.

The night before the exam that will decide if Aqua and Terra become Keyblade Masters (the Master Qualification Exam), Ven is resting in bed, when suddenly... there are SHOOTING STARS and cool things in the sky!! Of course, this means Ven has to move elsewhere to get a better view, so out he goes! And while lying on the ground watching the stars he drifts off and starts to dream. This is when Aqua finds him. She proceeds to stand over him and watch him until he wakes up, and when he jolts up she laughs and calls him a silly name. He asks her about the stars, and she starts to tell him what she knows about them (that all the stars up there are actually different worlds) and that's when Terra shows up. The three amigos, together at last! For the last night ever. Aqua pulls out three charms (named Wayfinders) and gives them to Ven and Terra for good luck. “Somewhere out there there's this tree that has star shaped fruit... and if you share that fruit with someone, your destinies will be forever intertwined.” I don't think it goes like that exactly but that's basically what she says. And throughout the game these charms keep Aqua, Terra, and Ven going as they know that their friends are always with them, even if they can't be with them physically.

The morning of the exam comes and Aqua and Terra wait at attention to begin. Master Eraqus, who had trained them for a very long time, tells them that Master Xehanort will be watching them as well and that this will be a traditional test. The first test is to fight off balls of light (lol) and while Terra and Aqua turn to fight these balls, Master Xehanort does some creepy dark magic on the side and makes them go a little haywire. One even goes after Ven, who is watching the exam from the side. Aqua wants Ven to return to his room so he won't get hurt but Ven disagrees, and Terra just says that Ven can take care of himself. Aqua gives up and then tells Ven to stay sharp before turning to the orbs of light.

Eventually the trio beat the orbs and the exam continues with Aqua and Terra battling each other. The point is not to win, but to show their skills. And as Aqua and Terra battle, Terra is unable to control the darkness in his heart, which doesn't go unnoticed by the masters. So when everything is over, Master Eraqus only deems Aqua worthy of becoming a master.

Aqua, knowing how important this was to Terra, instantly turns toward him and holds out her hand, in a sign of comfort. She shows no glee in having achieved her dream alone, rather, she's upset that Terra hasn't reached his dream with her. But there's hope! Master Eraqus proceeds to give them the mission of leaving The Land of Departure, and saying that this is a second chance for Terra to prove himself as a true master. Master Eraqus really does love you, Terra! Terra leaves, and Aqua stays behind with Master Eraqus for information that she is now entitled to because she's a master. This is when she's asked to keep an eye on Terra. She agrees because it's a request of Master Eraqus, but she thinks that he's wrong in believing that Terra is weak and needs to be watched. She believes that Terra is stronger than that.

Oh, and Ven? Even though he's not supposed to leave, he also goes off! After Terra, at that. Both of them blast off to other worlds before Aqua leaves so she trails behind them as she goes (now with the orders to watch Terra AND take Ven back home). Her first stop is Cinderella's world, where she instantly meets up with Terra again. He tells her that Master Xehanort is after the light in hearts, and she asks him if he's seen Ven. He hasn't, and she decides to stay in this world and look for clues. She helps Cinderella when her evil step-mom and step-sisters! She helps Prince Philip save Aurora! She helps Snow White wake up from her slumber! ...All the while going, “That's so sweet.”

Because Aqua is a little behind the others, she usually goes to worlds after they do, and sees the aftermath. And she sees the things Terra has done - she's heard nothing but bad things from the villains about how Terra has embraced darkness. She still says that they're lying and that she believes Terra is stronger than that, but the doubt lingers in her mind. She continues to go through worlds and continues to help those in need, and she begins to learn more and more as she goes. There can't be any darkness without light, but there also can be no light without darkness. She even comments that Master Eraqus had always taught them that darkness needed to be destroyed, but ...that didn't seem to be the case. And that there's something that's even stronger than light (loooooooooooooove). Things start to pick up again once she reaches Radiant Garden. Here, she meets a little Kairi, who is running away from some unversed (unversed are essentially the 'heartless' and 'nobodies' of this game) that are trying to attack her.

Aqua, of course, doesn't hesitate to help the girl. She battles the unversed and once finished approaches the girl. She senses no darkness in her (as it's Kairi and Kairi is a princess of heart) - and thinks, this girl must be important. So she presses her finger to Kairi's necklace and places a little spell on her, one that will protect her when her heart needs to be protected. Kairi, in return, gives her the flowers she's holding and that becomes a new keyblade. Aqua doesn't believe that meeting Kairi was just a coincidence (spoiler: it's not!!) and she moves on to the rest of the world. Here, she meets up with Terra and Ven again and they battle a giant unversed together. Once they destroy it Aqua tries to get Ven to return home once more. After hearing that Ven has met with the Masked Boy, Terra agrees, and tells Ven to let Aqua take him home. He also says that he and Aqua have an important task ahead of them, and this is when Aqua butts in. She asks him what this important task is, and that she's been to the worlds he has been to. He leaves, angry that Aqua has been 'spying' on him (though she tries to explain that it's because the Master cares) and Ven calls her “awful” and that her being a Keyblade Master has gone to her head. She doesn't disagree, nor try to explain herself any further, and he leaves to go after Terra.

Even so, she still cares deeply about Terra and Ven, and continues on (battles battles and more battles) to more worlds. Everyone she speaks to gives her knowledge and broadens her views, and she is honestly touched by the people that she meets on her journey. She eventually reaches Destiny Islands (after more fighting and that Stupid Masked Boy coming out of the woodwork) and sees the Paopu fruit that she based the Wayfinders off of. While standing on the mini-island that attaches to the bridge and then that little shack, she sees two boys running across the beach, racing one another. She jumps down and meets them, Sora and Riku. THEY ARE ADORABLE. She thinks to herself, Riku seems so innocent, like Terra. And Sora seems just like Ven. So she tells Sora that he should always look out for Riku, and should he ever wander off the right path, he needs to be there to bring his friend back and support him. And then she gives them hair ruffles. (In the words of Zia: After that they totally were like she totally digs me).

While traveling through the space...roadway... Aqua finds Mickey floating along. Surprised that he's there, she picks him up, and he manages to say “Yen Sid” so she takes him to the Mysterious Tower, where Yen Sid resides. There, Yen Sid informs Aqua that Master Eraqus has been taken out. Shocked, and upset, she asked who would do such a thing, and Yen Sid answers that it was Terra. She doesn't know what to think, or why Terra would do such a thing, and Yen Sid answers that he doesn't have all the answers, so she goes off to find Terra. She finds him in the Keyblade Graveyard. They look at each other for a bit, and then she mentions Master Eraqus. He admits that he assisted in taking Eraqus down, and she's shocked. But he explains that he did it because he thought he was protecting Ven. He also admits that he was wrong, and that Aqua had been right all along, and that he had been straying from the path. He also says it will not happen anymore. However, she disagrees, saying that Master Xehanort will keep goading him and making him fight, and that he will be unable to keep his darkness in check.

“What else is darkness... besides anger, and rage?”

Ventus approaches them, and they speak some more. He's aware of what's going on as well, and he says that if he becomes a problem, that Aqua and Terra should put an end to him. Aqua and Terra are shocked at this, but they don't have enough time to properly talk about it because the battle begins. Terra directly battles Master Xehanort and Ven tries to as well, but MX grabs him and then freezes his body. He falls, and Aqua darts forward to catch him before he hits the ground. This is when Braig shows up to be a distraction while MX (I got tired of typing out his full name) battles with Terra. He antagonizes them both a bit, saying how they thought they had a bigger part to play while they didn't really. And oh yeah, Aqua must be mad at Terra for deep-sixing their Master, right? Aqua and Braig fight and Aqua wins - well, kind of. He manages to kill enough time! Vanitas comes jumping down from the sky and knocks her out cold.

When she wakes up, she sees Ventus standing. So happy he's okay she runs over to him and puts her hands on his shoulders, but...turns out Ven isn't totally okay. He is now Vanitas and Ventus in one! Micky and Aqua team up to fight him, but they eventually get knocked back. The combined Vanitas and Ventus go to finish Aqua, but she holds her Wayfinder and asks for strength from Terra and Ventus. Her keyblade glows and she rushes forward, striking, and their keyblades clash. She eventually overpowers him and destroys the X-blade, causing a huge rush of power, and she proceeds to black out once more.

When she wakes up she's back in the Mysterious Tower with both a sleeping Ven and Mickey. She tries to wake Ven up, but he won't wake, and Yen Sid says it's because his heart is lost. She promises to protect him, forever if he has to, but Yen Sid disagrees. He says that Ven doesn't need her protection. He says, Ven needs her her to believe in him, and for her to be a guiding light home. Mickey also says he will be a guiding light for Ven so he will have two lights, and Aqua says that he has three, because of Terra. However, there is no sign of Terra anywhere, and Yen Sid believes that he is gone. But Aqua believes in Terra, and she's intent on finding him.

And this is where I'll be taking her from! I would go a little more but I don't want to totally spoil everyone who hasn't played the game and wants to, and I'm fine with playing her from this point. So, on to her personality!

Aqua, as a person, is kind and responsible. Not to mention strong-willed! She's called stubborn a few times throughout the game, and that's because she doesn't give in to peer pressure or fall to anyone else's beliefs. Like when Maleficent attempts to get Aqua to side with her and the darkness - she refuses strongly. She has a devotion to her friends that rivals Sora's devotion to his friends, and she believes strongly in bonds (that's why she made the Wayfinders - to keep their bonds strong, even if everything changed). She worries a lot about Terra and Ven (with good reason) and is willing to do just about anything for them, and she'll protect them with all her might if she has to. They are her boys!!

However, Aqua is inexperienced with romance, so she becomes flustered and embarrassed easily with that topic. Like when Zack asks her out on a date! She goes super red and isn't sure how to respond, and ends up shaking her arms and head to compose herself. In Kingdom Hearts a kiss means True Love ™ so you can never date a KH girl without committing for life. Just saying. She's also very modest, as she never ignores the advice she gets from others (like the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella) even if it goes against what she's been taught (in fact, she's grown as a person from everything she's learned from people in different worlds), despite having the title of Keyblade Master. She even refers to herself as just an trainee still, despite passing the qualification exam. She still has a lot to learn, after all. And polite, hoo boy, old people love her for how polite she is. But, she's not all sugar and rainbows, not by a long shot. If you get antagonize her she will get mad -- she even calls Vanitas a "freak" at one point.

So, this is Aqua pretty much summed up and written out!

Why should that character be in this game: Not an OC!

Why do you want to continue their history here: Fresh and Clean!

For applicants considering an alternate version of a character already in game, please use this as your chance to explain the key differences between your character and the one already in play: Not an alternate version!

Have you read up on how the game works?: Yep! The guide user is the FlamingFerret (firefox!!!) and you can earn money by working jobs, offering your services, and selling your worldly possessions because I don't think Aqua would mooch. But you could do that too!

1st person sample:

[The guide flickers on to a blue eye. The pupil of that eye dilates a bit before the owner of it moves back and away from the tiny camera on the Guide - which she had been examining as she pressed the video option.]

Oh-- it's on, okay.

The Guide says that this connects to a Network, so...

Hello. My name is Aqua. I'm looking for some people - some friends of mine. One goes by the name Ventus or Ven...for short. Blue eyes, blond, an outfit that's a little similar to mine... and he's a bit shorter than I am. Um, but chances are that he'll be asleep, if you do see him. He won't wake up if you shake him or anything, so please don't.

[a beat, as though she's letting the watchers digest that bit of information]

The second person I'm looking for is named Terra. Brown hair, blue eyes... and he's taller than me. If anyone has seen them, could you please let me know? I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

[and after some more fiddling with the guide, the video feed shuts off.]

3rd person sample: This ship looked like one she had been on before. But she didn't see any familiar faces, like Experiment 626 or Gantu. No... even the hallways and twists and turns weren't how she remembered. Plus, she had never seen so many people on that ship--

She turned her body away from a group of large aliens walking toward her and cartwheeled around the corner. Some of them watched her as though she were crazy for cartwheeling around to get places, but it was the easiest way to do things. Still, they stared, and she gave a little awkward wave before they turned back to their own business. That was also weird-- she had never gotten looks for cartwheeling around before.

Right right, what she was doing in the first place! She turned her attention onto this 'Guide' she was given. She had tried to explain that it wasn't her intention to stay on this ship for a prolonged period of time (she had to find her friends, after all) but the aliens behind the New Arrivals desk had just shaken their heads (and laughed) while handing her papers upon papers upon papers. Plus this guide, and a towel. And while these were all nice things she hadn't wanted them nearly as much as she had wanted answers.

“I can't believe... everything is really gone. Or, at least, that's what they're saying. But can it really be true...?”

She closed her eyes for a second while leaning back against the cold wall of the ship. The breeze of people passing ruffled strands of her hair into awkward positions (it was almost comforting). A quick hand to brush those pieces back into place, and then back to business.

This Guide... it held a lot of information, like some sort of archive. Room Assignments... forms...times when the elderly played bingo in the recreational area... but this Guide wasn't bringing up any information that she wanted to know. There seemed to be certain forms she could fill out if she wanted information, but she couldn't fill them out right away, as her new arrival and registration forms were being processed. Good to know. Still, there seemed to be no instant gratification and no straight answers. At least... right away.

But still, there was hope.

The Guide made a 'bleep' noise and a few options came up-- a Network? She leaned a little closer into the little screen, reading the tiny words that had flashed up.

That sounded promising.

And there were options - AUDIO | VIDEO | TEXT.

After a slight pause, she selected the VIDEO option. Okay, let's see where this would take her.

Questions?: Nope!
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: Yessir!
