Curd! I'm nearly done my story (Hopefully by my deadline.) But, this morning mom left something on the table for me. It was information about a short story writing contest. The winner will receive a cash prize and their story will be published in a compilation. So now the question is do I work on Nano or do I whip up something for that contest. * ( Read more... )

Or work on a short story you've already got that could use a good polish? Regardless, send me that info and I'll definitely be interested. I have to polish a story for school so it might also be worth trying to get published there. Also, what is the deadline for the short story?

Unfortunately I don't have anything that's only 3,500 words. T^T The short story deadline is Jan 31st. I know seems like it's far away but considering that my plan was Nano November then editing AAI and having it submitted before the end of December gives me precious little time to make up a story, write it then edit it before January ends.

Pretty much right now it's a struggle between a confidence boost and just working on a piece that I can have lots of fun with or doing something that might net me a little cash but more importantly could actually get some of my work published.

I have a brilliant idea...
Have your character right a short story - put it in your NaNo (so it bolsters your word count). Then you have it written for Jan 1st, and have 31 days to edit it.
