Snagged some movies while they were on sale, Beauty and the Beast, Mega Mind, Hercules and the last Shrek movie. I know I shouldn't be wasting my pay check like that but I likes my cartoons. Also the class reviewed a section of my work. (Chapter 3 with Relina's entrance.) One or two people didn't like how the character wasn't your "typical elf" but

Sales are the best time to buy movies! I ended up getting a lot during the holiday sales, as I too like my cartoons. I still need to see Mega Mind one of these days.

Wait...so someone didn't like that Relina wasn't a stereotypical elf? :D I'd slap them upside the head with her background, then maybe they'd understand she's not typical because she's all sorts of screwed up in the head. (Plus, that whole Curse of Mortality thing really took away her, "I'm going to live practically forever!" mindset) She's still a tree-hugging, nature-loving elf though, can't take that away from her. She just can't be as pacifist and slow to act as a regular elf seeing how she lost most of her lifespan to that curse (which, I might add, she rightfully deserved, since no one should get away with desecrating a sacred temple!)

That has to be fun getting feedback from people with no knowledge of the characters you are working with. It ought to help give you perspective when writing.

Truth be told I should be good and save by I've had my eye on the titles for a while.

Some people are mired in the Tolkein version of fantasy so going "outside the box" is a bit upsetting. Some people didn't even like that Reginald stayed at home while Relina went out to be guardian. Granted I took some creative liberties with a few aspects of Relina character so she might not be exactly like Relina Prime in some respects but the character is close enough. ;) Desecrating temples? Try killing Gods, I'd say that Sig got away from it scott-free but really my poor character just keeps getting himself into deeper trouble.

I was really surprised that most of the class enjoyed it. So it has me pumped to keep on writing.

Mega Mind is out on DVD now? WHOO HOO!

Could you do me a favor and tell me what extras are on the Mega Mind DVD? I want to know if my friends and I made it into the special features on account of participating in this event...

It was a pretty good flick!
I just have the basic copy and sadly they have nothing from that event. :( But, they do have other deluxe editions that may contain more.

AT&T or Verizon?

If Verizon, I'd hold out on the iPhone until this summer when the iPhone 5 is introduced. The phones typically are refreshed in the summer and the current iPhone is CDMA while the next is expected to be on Verizon's high-speed network.

It would be with Verizon, problem is my current phone is dying. So I'm not sure I could hold out for 5 months without getting it replaced. Plus there's always all the bugs with the 1st gen phones. Yuck! It should be good to note that this would be my first smart phone so anything would be a huge upgrade compared to what I have now.

Well, technically it's not a first-generation phone. It's a pretty mature platform. That being said, I'd go play with both and see which one you like best. What do you want out of a smartphone?

First and foremost was that it was a good phone, good hearing/speaking quality and battery life. After that, a good camera and space for texts and pictures.
