[The feed clicks on, showing Brennan sitting in the middle of stacks of file folders and papers scattered across her bedroom floor. Evidently, she's brought work home once again. She appears entirely unmoved the obnoxiously rumbling thunder in the background as she sorts through the documents, heedless of the occasional flickers of brighter light

[Brennan glances over her shoulder at Angela, before gathering up some of the papers and folders from the floor and placing them into neat stacks by the bed now that she can make out her surroundings thanks to the candle. She speaks as she organizes, several noteworthy mentions occurring her at once.]

You're right, we should take stock of the supplies we have. It's getting too dangerous to go out, so we'll have to make do with that's in the pantries as far as sustenance goes. You've obviously found candles - we should also look for a flashlight, just in case.

[She gets up from the floor, straightening her sweater and brushing off unseen dirt from her jeans. Regarding Angela, she speaks up again.]

I'm more worried about this blackout than any elusive threat of a flood, at the moment. If we're out of power for longer than an hour, we have to empty at least the freezer so it doesn't thaw all over the kitchen floors.

And I'm guessing you don't have spare batteries? [Gingerly, she accepts the scented candle from Angela as she waits for the answer. Brennan is fairly certain she already knows it, but there's always room for surprise where Angela is concerned.] You know, we should make a list of what we don't have in the household and make sure to acquire them after this weather passes. In case something to this affect takes place again in the future.

[Because Brennan is convinced this is just a bad storm that would eventually pass. She refuses to think otherwise.]

For now, yes. Hopefully the power comes back on before we need to start emptying the freezer. We're probably good for a few hours, at least. We should check if the hallway is dark to determine if the entire building has lost power or just us. It could be just a blown fuse.
