Cassandra did not recall ever speaking a word to this girl, so when she turned to Ada, it was with faint irritation. "Yes?" she said, stopping as well, and fixing Ada with an impatiently curious look.
"I need to ask you somethin', an 'm hopin' you'll answer me true," Ada said simply, hands in her back pockets as she regarded Cassandra curiously. "It true you took Anders away from th' school?"
There wasn't anything particularly accusatory or upset about her tone, just... sad. Ada'd only really had two or three classes with him and didn't know him that well, beyond that he'd seemed a nice enough boy, but it mattered to Dante, and Ada herself had a powerful distaste for people who thought it right an' just to steal people from their homes. For reasons.
That said, she wasn't going to just lead the girl into an ambush-by-Dante if'n the squirrels or whatever had the wrong of it and she was innocent.
She did not recall receiving any phone calls from women, nor imparting this information on anyone but Garik, the principal, and--
Cassandra's expression hardened. "I do not know what he told you--" she began, then cut herself off midway as she spotted someone coming towards them from the school. "Maker's breath."
There she was. Dante recognized the girl from a couple of glimpses around the school, but he'd never known her well enough to know what her name was. Now he knew, though.
