It's a hell of a town
I just spent the afternoon with Sean and Jen in New York, and it makes me realize how much I miss my friends. I have a much longer entry to write, but I'm on a train as I type, and it's hard to get all philosophical when you're surrounded by people watching you type.

True Blood... Awww, Sookie Sookie now!
Sorry, bad joke. Couldn't be helped. Okay, so I just watched True Blood on HBO. I couldn't remember that much from the book, because I couldn't connect with Sookie. I let the series fall by the wayside and didn't pick it up again. Watching this first episode was like reading the book all over again, only I liked Sookie much better on screen. ( Read more... ) -

All this buzz about True Blood lately, and I finally just saw a trailer on HBO. I thought "man, this looks a LOT like that book series I tried...." Then, when I went to search for and set it to record next sunday, the synopsis said "Sookie Stackhouse falls for a 173 year old vampire...". Whaddaya know! It IS that book series I tried! It's a tough life.
I only had 3 clients today, and was done with work by 11. I got a chicken salad from Charo chicken, donned my new pink bikini with little white polka dots, grabbed my book, and headed for the roof balcony. I went to the gym this afternoon, and decided on a whim to take a free session with a trainer. He was a nice enough guy, and seemed to know his stuff. We had a decent workout, and sat in his office to "talk about my goals". Sales pitch. Whatever. He had me step on a scale (that's okay, I'm not afraid of the scale anymore), which read about 120.
